Rockwall, TX (January 19, 2024) – The Republican Party of Rockwall County is holding “People & Politics” Candidate Forum to bring Republican candidates directly to the people prior to early voting in the March 5 Primary election. The event will happen Wednesday, January 31st at Liberty Hall in the Rockwall County Courthouse located at 1111 E Yellowjacket in Rockwall. Doors will open at 5:30 with the evening set to start at 6:00pm.
There are only Republican candidates for the Texas House District 33 race, so the outcome of the Republican Primary will determine who serves the voters of District 33 in the future. In Texas, we have no political party “registration”, so a voter’s Party affiliation is assigned by the Primary in which they vote – either Republican or Democrat.
Texas House District 33, Rockwall County Commissioner Precinct 3 and Rockwall County Commissioner Precinct 1 each have three opposing Republican candidates who will answer questions to explain their views on the issues. The Forum will begin with each Commissioner race and conclude with the Texas House District 33 candidates.
These three races are all hotly contested, so it should be a great evening for constituents to learn about each candidate’s priorities and plans for this community. An informed voter is the best voter. “Talk is cheap, voting is free; take it to the polls.” – Nanette L. Avery, author
Candidates will also have tables with information available for attendees to take with them. Coffee and water will be available.
In Ballot Order:
Candidates for Commissioner Precinct 3 – Lorne Liechty, Rich Krause, Johnny Myers.
Candidates for Commissioner Precinct 1 – Bobby Gallana, Johnny Lyons, Mike Townsend
Candidates for Texas House District 33 – Dennis London, Katrina Pierson, Justin Holland
