Royse City, TX (July 9, 2024) – Royse City Medical Lodge and the Royse City American Legion Post 100 are honored to host a special Quilt of Valor ceremony on Saturday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. recognizing five local veterans for their service. Recipients include three residents of Fate and two current residents of the Royse City facility.
The quilts, personally and lovingly created by volunteers of Quilts of Valor Foundation, are presented as a civilian award to any service member or living veteran through a nomination and prioritization process. The Quilt of Valor recipients receive quilts featuring a variety of patterns, that follow established guidelines for size, distribution, and labeling. Then, during a special ceremony, the recipient is wrapped in the quilt which serves as a token of comfort and healing.
The event scheduled for July 20 is the latest ceremony coordinated by American Legion Post 100 and Royse City Medical Lodge, who have partnered on prior awards and recognition ceremonies.
The community is invited to attend the ceremony to show their support for those who have given and sacrificed much to our country. See flyer and event details here. RSVP is kindly requested to Joyce at Royce City Medical Lodge 972-636-9100.
