Rockwall 10 year old uses birthday to give to others

Rockwall, TX (October 23, 2024) – For her 10th birthday, Weslynn Bricker chose to forgo presents and instead asked for something more meaningful—winter coats for children in need. Inspired by Dolly Parton’s iconic song “Coat of Many Colors,” Weslynn turned her birthday celebration into an opportunity to give back. Surrounded by family and friends, she collected coats to be donated, demonstrating that kindness and generosity can have a big impact, even at a young age. Weslynn and her family personally delivered the coats to Rockwall’s Rainbow Room, helping keep children warm this winter.

Her selfless act is a beautiful reminder that compassion knows no age, and small gestures can make a world of difference.

This spirit of giving aligns perfectly with the mission of the Rainbow Room Rockwall. We provide immediate access to essential items—such as clothing, diapers, hygiene products, and school supplies—for children in foster care or protective services. During times of crisis, we ensure that no child goes without the necessities they need for comfort and stability.

Community support is critical in helping us continue this important work. By donating or volunteering with the Rainbow Room, you can make a lasting impact on vulnerable children and families. Together, we can offer hope and care to those who need it most, and create brighter futures in our community.
