Fate, TX (November 14, 2024) – November 13, 2024, at approximate 10:30pm an armed robbery was reported in the 2100 block of Whispering Sage Blvd. in Royse City. Rockwall County Dispatch quickly broadcast this information to Fate Police Officers.
Fate Police Officers observed the involved vehicle within city limits near FM 552 and State Hwy 66. Officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle began to evade the officers and would not stop. The pursuit continued west on FM 552, entering the City of Rockwall; the suspect continued to evade officers in the City of Rockwall; the pursuit went west on State Hwy 66 into the City of Rowlett. At the intersection of Miller Rd and The President George Bush Tollway, due to the driver’s reckless behavior, a low-speed TVI (tactical vehicle intervention) or PIT technique was used by the lead Fate Police Officer. The TVI successfully ended the pursuit and the suspect’s reckless driving behavior.
The suspect fled on foot and was later apprehended by assisting Rockwall County Sheriff Deputies, Rowlett Police Officers, and a Texas DPS Aviation Helicopter. The suspect was taken into custody; the suspect was transported to the Rockwall County Detention Center. This case will be filed with the Rockwall County District Attorney’s Officer for prosecution with charges from both the Fate Police Department and Royse City Police Department.
