Rockwall County, TX (December 11, 2024) – Rockwall County Helping Hands has installed a new refrigeration and freezers, made possible by funding a capacity- building grant from the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB).
The new units significantly increased the pantry’s ability to receive and temporarily store refrigerated and frozen foods, enabling us to serve the growing needs of our community. This year, Helping Hands has already distributed 50,000 lbs of food to Rockwall County families in need, and the new additional units are a game-changer in providing more quality, nutritious food.
“We are so grateful for the additional refrigeration and frozen storage capacity,” said Tarren Oswald, Assistance & Referral Director. “This would not have been possible without the generosity and partnership of NTFB, and it means we can better meet the needs of those we serve.”
Helping Hands Assistance Program, which includes the Food Pantry, is open to Rockwall County residents in need and can be reached by calling 972-772-4357.
This expansion underscores Rockwall County Helping Hands’ commitment to alleviating hunger and building a stronger, healthier community. To join the cause, please visit RockwallHelpingHands.com/donate.
