ROCKWALL, TX (December 20, 2024) – This holiday season, Welborn Garage successfully wrapped up an inspiring initiative to support local families in need. Partnering with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), Welborn Garage collected over 1,000 canned goods from customers, translating into 729 meals for families facing food insecurity.
Helping Families in Need, One Can at a Time
Mike Anderson, owner of Welborn Garage, expressed pride in the community’s generosity and the campaign’s success. “We know there are families in North Texas who struggle to put food on the table, especially during the holidays. Partnering with the North Texas Food Bank gave us a way to make a real difference. Every can donated truly counted,” he said.
As part of the campaign, Welborn Garage encouraged customers to donate canned goods during service calls, offering $10 off their total service bill for each can donated. The initiative inspired participation across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with many customers going above and beyond.
A Season for Generosity
Many North Texas families, particularly those with children, face heightened food insecurity during the holiday season. Rising costs and limited resources often mean parents struggle to provide adequate meals. Through this drive, Welborn Garage hoped to ease that burden and spread holiday cheer to those who needed it most.
