Dr. Catherine Casteel announces candidacy for Rockwall City Council

Rockwall, TX (February 14, 2025) – Today, Dr. Catherine Casteel is announcing her candidacy for Rockwall City Council, Place 1.

“As a physician, small business owner, and fiscal conservative, I have a unique skill set that I am excited to put to work for residents and business owners in the City of Rockwall,” Dr. Catherine Casteel said. “My vision for Rockwall includes meeting infrastructure needs to ease traffic congestion, keeping our community safe and tapping the breaks on high density housing.”

A native Texan, Dr. Casteel has been active in Rockwall for many years serving as a volunteer, advocate, and civic leader striving to make Rockwall a better place for businesses and families. Her journey into city governance began through active participation in local initiatives, particularly as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. She is running for City Council to be a voice for the people of Rockwall, having witnessed the challenges of rapid development firsthand.

Dr. Casteel and her husband Gerald – a United States Army veteran – raised their two children right here in Rockwall. Gerald Jr. is an active-duty member of the United States Air Force, serving in Korea, and Alexandria is pursuing a Ph.D. in Anthropology at Dartmouth University and is a consultant at the Smithsonian National Museum in Washington, D.C.
