Rockwall Amateur Radio Club to participate in Field Day 2025

Rockwall, TX (June 11, 2025) – The Rockwall Amateur Radio Club is a participant in the annual Amateur Radio Relay League Field Day beginning Saturday, June 28 at 1pm and continuing until 1pm on Sunday, June 29.

One of the purposes of amateur radio is provide communications during emergencies. Field Day was created to encourage amateur radio clubs and individual amateurs to take their radio gear, setup, and operate in remote locations making contact with other amateur operators and clubs across the country. It is in part emergency operation practice and in part a contest.

Fire Chief Wayne Clark and the members of the Union Valley Volunteer Fire Department generously agreed to host the Rockwall club out of the Union Valley VFD Fire Station, 7965 FM 1565, Union Valley, TX. Visitors are welcome during the event!

The Rockwall Amateur Radio Club formed 26 years ago to encourage and support the amateur radio hobby and to serve the Rockwall area. The club provides communications for local events, such as the TriRock Triathlon and Rockwall Christmas parade, and emergency services including Storm Spotting for the NWS and the RCOEM.
