Rockwall, TX (July 15, 2025) – Rockwall County Commissioner, Precinct 2, Dana K Macalik announced her re-election campaign Friday, July 4th– Independence Day – at the cities of Heath and Rockwall parades, sharing her message to the citizens of Precinct 2 that she is seeking another term to serve “the county that she loves”.
The 5th generation Rockwall County resident said she will focus on to continuing her efforts to promote sustainable growth and development through intentional planning and collaboration while combating rising government interference. “There is still a lot of growth left in our County; therefore, we need to continue to create better channels of communications and increased alignment between citizens, developers and elected officials. These are opportunities and investments that can’t be wasted,” said Dana Macalik. “Protecting our quality of life with improved transportation and critical infrastructure is a necessity. We can’t ignore the importance of addressing our natural resources and open spaces which brought many citizens to Rockwall in the first place.”
As a member of the Commissioners Court spearheading the Strategic Plan 2050, Macalik and the planning committee served 18 months developing a long-term plan for Rockwall County. The plan was adopted unanimously in April 2025 by the Commissioners’ Court.
“A huge thank-you goes out to the many individuals, citizens, and team members who participated in the plan that embodies a shared vision for a prosperous and vibrant Rockwall County for future generations.” Macalik said.

Macalik assumed office on January 1, 2023, following the retirement of 2-term County Commissioner Lee Gilbert. Her current term ends on December 31, 2026.
Dana serves on the following boards and commissions for the County including: Transportation/Infrastructure Consortium, Emergency Services Corporation, Star Transit, and Juvenile Services.
