JustServe inspires unity with local opportunities for 9/11 Day of Service

Rockwall, TX (September 4, 2025) — On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, and throughout the month, communities across the country and around DFW will mark the National Day of Service and Remembrance by volunteering together — 24 years after the 2001 attacks. Neighbors, schools, companies, and civic groups will join forces to lift one another and honor lives lost by doing what strengthens us most: serving side by side.

JustServe.org makes it simple to find local or remote projects, connecting volunteers with more than 16,000+ nonprofits, schools, and community groups worldwide.

“Serving together anytime strengthens our communities, and especially on a nationally recognized day of service reminding us of the unity that we felt in the days and weeks after September 11,” said Kerri Zimmerman, DFW JustServe Director. “Serving locally reminds us that everyone can make a difference and when we come together to serve, we can make an even bigger difference. JustServe is proud to be a coalition partner with 911day.org and JustServe North Texas promoting local service opportunities in DFW.”

Community members are invited to volunteer across the community. A few local opportunities include:
