Heath, TX (October 24, 2025) – Celebrating and dining out in Heath just got safer with the help of the Safe Ride program! The Heath Police and Fire Association (HPFA), in partnership with Lyft, seeks to ensure Rockwall County roads remain safe by providing free rides home to those who may have had too much to drink.
How does the Safe Ride program work?
Safe Ride is an innovative community partnership to prevent intoxicated driving. Accessing your complimentary ride home is easy and convenient. Simply scan the QR code found on HPFA coasters at participating locations — Pablo’s, Standard Service, Wings Over Heath, Manny’s, and Buffalo Creek Golf Club — and get a free Lyft ride home.
The Heath Police and Fire Association will cover your ride home up to $25 plus tip, which ensures that most Heath residents are covered in full. Rockwall County residents who live outside the Heath city limits may need to cover expenses over and above that $25 limit.
No Questions. No Judgement.
Just a safe way home. Residents who have had too much to drink can rest assured the program is focused on safety, not penalty. No questions asked and no judgements are made. The HPFA has implemented the program simply to ensure a safe ride home, rather than possibly respond to a tragedy.
The initiative aims to keep Heath one of the safest cities in Texas. The HPFA encourages everyone to participate — choose the ride, not the risk.
