Rockwall, TX (November 21, 2025) – The J.E.R. Chilton YMCA Rockwall Riptides topped the Winter Championships held at the Rockwall ISD Aquatic Center on November 15-16, 2025! Amongst fierce competition from teams across the DFW area, Corsicana, and Abilene, the Riptides secured a first place overall in the team competition! The two-day event showcased young athletes across a variety of age groups competing in over eighty different events including Relay, Freestyle, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.
The Riptides victory draws on a foundation of year-long training at the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA, where swimmers of all ages hone their skills striving towards technical ability and personal growth. With a number of top finishes by Riptides athletes from ages six through youth, the Riptides propelled their way to the top of the board with an astounding 6,200 points – a commanding margin over their closest competition.
With a 50-year history, the Riptides Swim Team continues to dive into success! Through a strong Aquatics program, devoted coaches and volunteers, the Riptides success shines through in numerous personal and team awards to their name (including a 2024 Lone Star Large Division Gold Medal). These athletes prove that hard work, determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship are a winning combination.
