City of Fate announces Kroger Marketplace as anchor retailer for Lafayette Crossing

Fate, Tx (December 8, 2025) — The City of Fate is proud to announce that Kroger Marketplace will serve as the first major commercial anchor for Lafayette Crossing, the City’s highly anticipated 267-acre mixed-use development located at the northwest corner of I-30 and Memorial Parkway (FM 551). This marks a significant milestone in the growth of Fate’s commercial landscape and brings one of the nation’s leading retailers to the heart of the community.

The new Kroger Marketplace will feature over 100,000 square feet of retail and grocery space, providing residents with access to fresh foods, household essentials, pharmacy services, and specialty departments all in one location. In addition, the project anticipates tens of thousands of square feet of supportive retail, dining, and commercial services that will complement the anchor store and create a vibrant regional destination for Fate and surrounding communities. A second major anchor retailer is anticipated to join Kroger Marketplace in the Lafayette Crossing development.

Today’s announcement represents a tremendous step forward for the City of Fate. “Our residents have asked for more convenient services, high-quality retail options, and everyday amenities close to home — and Kroger Marketplace delivers exactly that. This project reflects our commitment to thoughtful, community-focused development that enhances daily life for our residents while creating a vibrant, connected future for Fate.” — Mayor Andrew Greenberg, City of Fate

“Kroger Marketplace will serve as a cornerstone for Lafayette Crossing and a catalyst for additional business investment in Fate. This project brings not only retail and services our community has been waiting for, but also new jobs, economic opportunities, and long-term commercial sustainability. We’re excited to welcome Kroger to Fate and look forward to the business growth that will follow.”  — Matt Wavering, Director of Economic Development, City of Fate
