Catalyst Christmas: J.E.R. Chilton YMCA delivers holiday hope and essentials to Rockwall neighbors in need

Rockwall, TX (December 17, 2025) – On Saturday, December 13 an incredibly special event came together at Rockwall’s  J.E.R. Chilton YMCA – serving families right here in the middle of the holiday season. Catalyst Christmas, a grassroots organization founded by the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas during the 2020 Christmas season, delivers food, pantry items, toiletries and more directly to individuals in need.

Volunteers from the Rockwall community, Rockwall ISD, J.E.R. Chilton YMCA, staff and members alike, spent their Saturday assembling and filled boxes to the rim with an assortment of supplies – each box containing over thirty items! Once the seventy-five boxes were stacked as high as could be reached, the time came to deliver these boxes of Christmas joy to recipients across Rockwall and Royse City and that is where our school district administration steps up. With their resources, Rockwall ISD and Royse City ISD will ensure that families in real need right now receive this unexpected and extra special holiday gift!

Behind Catalyst are partners from across the North Texas area – Reliant Energy, North Texas Food Bank, Crossroads Community Services, Flanagan Foundation, Insperity, Kroger, HEB, Year Up United Alumni, and A Pair of Socks – all who donated and/or gathered items to serve homes and communities.

While Catalyst is one day of community service, it speaks to the larger YMCA mission to build healthy minds, bodies, and spirits. Providing the much-needed food items is only part of the point – Catalyst also provides reassurance that our neighbors are cared for and supported by those around them.
