Rowlett Reviews Book Club kicks off 2026 with a historical review

Rowlett, TX (December 29, 2025) – Our next book review will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 with Ruth Sears presenting, “Empire of the Summer Moon; Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History” by S.C. Gwynne.

The first part of this historical review traces the history of the Comanches. The second part entails one of the most remarkable narratives ever to come out of the Old West: the epic saga of the pioneer woman Cynthis Ann Parker and her mixed blood son, Quanah, who became the last and greatest chief of the Comanches. This is some of the greatest Texas history and will be told by a thorough historian!

Join Rowlett Reviews Book Club at the First Christian Church in Rowlett (7301 Miller Road) for appetizers at 9:30 with the review beginning at 10:00. The cost is $5.00 or $35 to become a member. Any questions, please call Libby at 972-475-1217 and leave a message.
