Rockwall County, TX (February 3, 2026) – After seventeen years of incredible service, Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) announces the retirement of Child Advocacy Specialist Chris Hoffmeyer. The organization is proud to celebrate Chris’s outstanding contributions, dedication, skill, and compassion in service to children and families in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties.
Chris began her journey with Lone Star CASA as a CASA Volunteer in 2009 and joined the staff in 2017. Throughout her tenure, she has been a tireless advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect, ensuring their voices were heard and their needs prioritized.
“I feel every child needs to feel safe and protected from harm and abuse,” said Hoffmeyer. “We make sure that the children’s needs are being met and that we are advocating for their best interests.”
Throughout her distinguished career with Lone Star CASA, Chris Hoffmeyer positively impacted the lives of countless children and families across Rockwall and Kaufman Counties. In recognition of her exceptional service and commitment to child advocacy, Hoffmeyer was honored on January 27 with a Hometown Hero Award from Modern Woodmen. This prestigious award acknowledges her leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety, well-being, and best interests of children involved in the child welfare system.

In the last fiscal year alone, Lone Star CASA advocated for more than 270 children, helping 126 of them achieve permanency. Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children serves Rockwall and Kaufman Counties in Texas. Lone Star CASA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports trained volunteers who gather critical information about abused and neglected children and provide recommendations to judges to help determine each child’s best interests.
