Rockwall County, TX (February 5, 2026) – Weather permitting, the following traffic impacts are scheduled as part of an ongoing bridge improvement project:
- All lanes of eastbound I-30 will be closed at Horizon Road in Rockwall from 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 through 5 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7. Traffic will be detoured to the eastbound frontage road.
- All lanes of westbound I-30 will be closed at Horizon Road from 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 through 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8. Traffic will be detoured to the westbound frontage road.
- During these times, all lanes of Horizon Road and Ridge Road will be closed at I-30.
Drivers can expect delays through the area and should plan extra travel time. As progress continues, check drivetexas.org for daily lane closures. Any major scheduled closures will be announced in advance, and there is an option to sign up for text alerts.
The I-30 corridor expansion project will widen and add continuous frontage roads throughout Rockwall County, and will add new frontage road bridges across Lake Ray Hubbard. The work is part of TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes effort to relieve congestion in major metropolitan areas.
