City of Fate launches new Citizens Academy this spring

FATE, TX (February 6, 2026) — The City of Fate is excited to announce the launch of its new community-wide Citizens Academy, set to begin this spring. Applications are now officially open and will close on Monday, February 16.

Fate Citizen’s Academy is designed to give residents an inside look at how their local government operates. Participants will engage directly with City leadership and staff over a six-class course to learn more about public safety, public works, infrastructure planning, budgeting, community development, and the day-to-day operations that keep the City of Fate running.

The program aims to foster transparency, strengthen community relationships, and provide residents with meaningful opportunities to better understand and engage with their local government. Course details, eligibility requirements, and application information can be found on the City’s official website, linked below.

“This is more than just a program — it’s an opportunity to build lasting connections between our residents and the people who serve them every day,” said Shelbi Stofer, Public Engagement Coordinator for the City of Fate. “The Citizen’s Academy is about transparency, trust, and empowering residents to feel informed, engaged, and invested in the future of Fate.”

The course is currently open to residents of Fate.  Residents are encouraged to apply early, as space is limited.
