Fate, TX (February 11, 2026) – The City of Fate has temporarily closed a portion of Ben Payne Road between Hudson Road and SH 66 from February 3, 2026, through April 6, 2026 (pending any weather delays or unforeseen impacts), to complete a critical roadway alignment project designed to improve safety and traffic flow at one of the city’s busiest intersections.
This project will realign North and South Ben Payne Road and construct a dedicated left-turn lane from southbound Ben Payne to westbound SH 66. These improvements are expected to significantly enhance traffic movement in all directions at the intersection of Ben Payne and Highway 66, reducing congestion and improving overall safety.
The roadway enhancement is a key component of the City of Fate’s Master Thoroughfare Plan, which guides long-term infrastructure investments to support growth, connectivity, and mobility throughout the community.
Neighborhoods including Woodcreek, Monterra, Avondale, and Riding Club may experience temporary impacts; however, Woodcreek Boulevard is expected to help minimize disruptions. Detour routes will be clearly marked, and residents are encouraged to follow posted signage and allow additional travel time during construction.
