Rockwall, TX (February 12, 2026) – Residents are invited to attend the Homeowner’s Guide to Landscaping, a free, family-friendly educational event focused on water-smart, sustainable landscaping. The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Rockwall County Courthouse, Liberty Hall (1111 Yellow Jacket Lane, Rockwall). Hosted by the North Texas Municipal Water District, in partnership with the City of Rockwall and the Rockwall County AgriLife Extension Office, the event will feature expert presentations, live demonstrations, and hands-on learning opportunities.
Topics include native plants and turf removal, DIY irrigation repair, sprinkler system evaluations, landscape maintenance, rainwater harvesting, organic lawn care, and water-efficient irrigation practices. Subject matter experts will be available throughout the event to answer questions and provide guidance.
The event is FREE and open to the public and includes kid-friendly activities, make-and-take crafts, photo opportunities with Bud the 150-pound alligator snapping turtle, free giveaways, and drawings for water-wise landscaping items.
