Rockwall, TX (February 13, 2026) – Homeowners looking to create healthy, beautiful landscapes, while conserving water and saving money, are invited to attend the Homeowner’s Guide to Landscaping on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Rockwall County Courthouse.
This free, family-friendly event is designed to help residents make smart, sustainable choices for their yards and landscapes. The North Texas Municipal Water District is proud to partner with the City of Rockwall and the Rockwall County AgriLife Extension Office to bring this educational experience to the community.

The event will feature three keynote presentations led by local experts, covering:
- Native plants and Landscape Design— Learn how to transition to landscapes that thrive in North Texas conditions while reducing maintenance and water use.
- DIY Irrigation Repair and Sprinkler System Check Up — Discover common irrigation issues, how to make simple repairs, and how to ensure your system operates efficiently.
- Waterwise Landscape Maintenance 101 — Gain practical, year-round tips for keeping your landscape healthy and resilient.
Live Demonstrations
Attendees can also enjoy hands-on demonstrations throughout the event, including:

- Using the cycle-and-soak method to save water and money
- Rain barrel installation and using harvested rainwater effectively

The Homeowner’s Guide to Landscaping is a FREE, family-friendly event with kid-friendly activities, make-and-take crafts, and photo opportunities with Bud, the 150-lb Alligator Snapping Turtle. All attendees will receive free giveaways, and you’ll have a chance to win prizes in water-wise landscaping drawings.
