Rockwall to host DIY landscape event on March 7

Rockwall, TX (February 21, 2026) – The North Texas Municipal Water District will be hosting a “Homeowners Guide to Landscaping” event on Saturday, March 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This free event is open to all and will have some kid friendly crafts.

Learn from local experts:

• Native plants and turf removal – learn how to transition to landscapes that thrive in North Texas conditions
• DIY irrigation repair and sprinkler system audits – identify common issues, make simple repairs, and ensure your system is running efficiently
• Landscape Maintenance 101 – practical tips for maintaining your landscape year-round

In addition to the keynote sessions, attendees can enjoy live demonstrations on:

• DIY Irrigation repair and maintenance
• Using the cycle and soak method to reduce run-off
• Organic pest control and fertilizer options
• Rain barrel installation and how to use harvested rainwater effectively and more

All attendees will receive free giveaways, and you’ll have a chance to win prizes in water-wise landscaping drawings.
