Rockwall County Library Invites Community to Participate in “Unearth a Story” Mini Art Exhibition

ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX (April 21, 2026) – The Rockwall County Library is inviting the community to get creative this May with its annual Mini Art Exhibition, themed “Unearth a Story.” Open to teens, adults, and children ages 8 and up, the program welcomes artists of all experience levels to participate.

Beginning May 1, community members can pick up a free canvas board at the library’s Youth Desk, available while supplies last through May 22. Participants are encouraged to take their canvas home and create an original piece using their own materials, drawing inspiration from this year’s theme, “Unearth a Story.”

Completed artwork must be returned to the Rockwall County Library Youth Desk by May 30 to be included in a special summer exhibition.

This year, the library is partnering with the Rockwall Art League to showcase the submitted pieces. The collaborative exhibit will be on display inside the library from May through August, highlighting the creativity and talent of the local community. The Rockwall Art League, a longtime partner of the library, continues to support and enhance community programming through its involvement.

As an added incentive, participants may choose to donate their completed art panels, which can be entered as raffle prizes for the Children’s Summer Reading Club.

The Mini Art Exhibition is a celebration of creativity, storytelling, and community connection, offering residents a chance to express themselves while contributing to a shared artistic experience.
