ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX (April 22, 2026) — Youth across the globe are invited to make a meaningful impact during Global Youth Service Day (April 24–26, 2026), with service opportunities continuing throughout April and May as part of Youth Service Month. Through JustServe.org, young people ages 5–25 can discover hands-on ways to get involved as they serve, lead, and strengthen their communities.
Global Youth Service Day is a worldwide initiative that encourages youth to engage in service, education, and advocacy efforts addressing issues such as hunger, education, environmental care, and community well-being. Participants can organize their own projects or join existing opportunities, gaining valuable service hours while developing leadership skills and a lifelong commitment to helping others.
Youth, families, and groups can get involved through several upcoming local service opportunities:
Special Olympics Texas Summer Games (April 30–May 2, Melissa, TX)
Volunteers are needed to support athletes from across the state at the 2026 Summer Games. Groups can serve in a variety of roles—including sports support, hydration, logistics, athlete village, meals, and opening ceremonies. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided. This high-energy event offers a unique opportunity to celebrate and uplift athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Carr P. Collins Lunch Meal Service Group Events (Ongoing)
Youth volunteers can assist in preparing and serving meals, supporting kitchen staff, and interacting with individuals receiving services. This hands-on opportunity allows volunteers to directly connect with and serve members of the community in need.
The Salvation Army of North Texas Emergency Kit Projects (Ongoing)
Volunteers can assemble and deliver emergency and seasonal kits that support individuals and families accessing shelters, food pantries, and other essential services across North Texas. These projects provide a simple but meaningful way to meet immediate needs in the community.
Feed the City Events (Royse City – May 2 and Rockwall – May 9)
Volunteers of all ages are invited to bring supplies and work together to pack sack lunches for those in need. Since its founding, Feed the City has mobilized more than 100,000 volunteers to provide over 7 million meals worldwide, demonstrating the impact of collective service.

From students seeking service hours for school, clubs, or scholarships, to families, church groups, and teams, all are invited to make a difference by serving in their communities.
To explore these opportunities and many more, visit JustServe.org, a free community platform where volunteers can sign up, track service hours, and discover projects that match their interests and schedules. Participants are also encouraged to share their experiences on social media using #GlobalYouthServiceDay and #JustServeYourWay.
