(ROYSE CITY, TX — June 20, 2016) The race was on at the Dallas Karting Complex in Caddo Mills on June 3, as folks of all ages zipped around the racetrack to support graduating Royse City high school seniors during the Royse City Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Speeding 4 Scholarships Go-Karting Tournament.
Racers in three age groups enjoyed a night of fun competition as they sped around the fastest kart racing track in Texas – and all for a great cause. Each year the Royse City Chamber awards two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Royse City school district. Friday’s event, Royse City Chamber Executive Director Julia Bryant said, will help the Chamber to raise funding to present an additional college scholarship in 2017.
“It was exciting to hold an event where people of all ages – men, women, boys and girls – could participate and win awards,” Bryant said. “Our hope is those who were there will be so enthusiastic over how much fun it was that they will go to their places of business and encourage them to put teams together for next year. It’s a wonderful team building experience and a really fun way for employees to get to know one another better outside of work.”
