(ROCKWALL, TX — October 18, 2017) Rockwall Fire Department’s new Chief spoke to the Rockwall Breakfast Rotary at its meeting on Oct. 17. He was welcomed by President Nancy Runge. Kenneth Cullins grew up in Rockwall and his lifelong ambition has been to be a firefighter. His father was a volunteer firefighter for Rockwall and Kenneth has fond memories of riding on the firetruck as a young boy, heading to a call. He says, “However, that is impossible today.” But those days were very special to him and lit his fire for his life’s work.
Kenneth remembers when Rockwall had only one traffic light and the fire department volunteers were alerted to report for duty by a loud siren on top of a water tower that was in the downtown area.
Kenneth is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He is married to Heather and they have two beautiful daughters.
The 28 years that he spent as a volunteer for the Rockwall Fire Department overlapped with his 22-year career in the Dallas Fire Department, where he was eventually promoted to Deputy Chief. He is extremely happy to be the Rockwall Fire Chief and is very appreciative of his home town for affording him this opportunity.
