(ROCKWALL, TX — December 21, 2017) Congratulations to Jacket Backer November Athletes of the Month Cole Talley and Faith Mason-Vestal! Listed below are all of the outstanding accomplishments made by these athletes during the month of November.
Senior Football player Cole Talley
Cole was multi-dimensional during the month of November. He lined up at receiver, tight end, H-Back offensive tackle and kicker. Cole has been a part of the nucleus of the team for the past three years. His leadership and determination has been a tremendously positive influence on his teammates. Quote from Coach Webb. “He is unquestionably our MVP on offense for the season, considering all of the intangibles he brought to that unit. Cole Talley exemplifies what we want our Rockwall athletes to embody – heart, dedication, perseverance and a whole bunch of JFND!”
Also nominated: Matthew Watkins for Golf, Connor Campbell for Gymnastics, and Sam Williamson for Basketball.
Senior Basketball player Faith Mason-Vestal
Faith signed with Newman University to play basketball. She helped her team win the Flower Mound Tournament and was named MVP of the tournament. Has led her team to a 10-2 record and #14 ranking in the state. Faith is leading the team in points averaging 10.6 ppg and rebounds averaging 6 per game. In the Flower Mound tournament, she shot 88% from the floor in two games and had a double-double in rebounds and points. Quote from Coach Brewer, “ Faith is a great leader for this team. She is a competitor that loves to be challenged and is someone her team looks up to and can trust. She is a kid that has had a lot of adversity through injuries and has worked extremely hard to come back and be her best for her team this year.”
