Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney Kenda Culpepper Awarded SAR Law Enforcement Commendation Medal

(ROCKWALL, TX — May 8, 2019) During the regular meeting of the Commissioners Court on Tuesday, May 7, the East Fork-Trinity Chapter of the National Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) awarded Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney Kenda Culpepper their Law Enforcement Commendation Medal.

The medal recognizes the exceptional service or accomplishment of an individual who has served with distinction and devotion in the field of law enforcement. Culpepper was awarded the medal for her untiring efforts to establish a Children’s Advocacy Center in Rockwall County. Culpepper also received an SAR Challenge Coin and a special banner in her honor.

“When I heard that I was going to be presented this award, it meant a great deal to me to not only be recognized for my efforts with the Children’s Advocacy Center, which has been a passion of mine for some time, but to get this award from an organization like the Sons of the American Revolution. Their ancestors helped forge this great nation of ours, and as a Daughter of the American Revolution, my ancestors joined them in that effort, so the DAR and the SAR are important in my life. I appreciate being selected to receive this honor, and hope to continue serving in this community for a long time,” Culpepper said.

In other recognition, the court also acknowledged STAR Transit’s Board of Directors and staff for receiving the 2019 Texas Transit Association’s Outstanding Rural Transit System award. The award is given to transportation systems that have designed and implemented programs which demonstrate innovative concepts or effective problem-solving techniques, and have applied these successfully in the public transportation industry.

This marks the second time that STAR Transit has won the Outstanding Rural Transit System award, receiving the honors for the first time in 2012.

Additionally, STAR Transit Chief Financial Officer Tommy Henricks received the Rising Star award this year for his exemplary and innovative work to further public transit.

“I’d like to thank the Commissioners Court for their partnership over the past several years. I think it’s been very successful, and we look forward to continue serving the residents of Rockwall County and the rest of our service areas,” Henricks said.
