ROCKWALL, TX – October 21, 2020 — During Monday’s Rockwall city council meeting, Mayor Jim Pruitt proclaimed the week of Oct. 19-23, 2020 as Chamber of Commerce Week in the city of Rockwall. The proclamation recognized the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce for its many endeavors helping professionals within the business community and beyond.
This year, the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates 91 years providing for the business community in Rockwall since it’s origination in 1929. Meanwhile, the Texas Association of Chambers of Commerce recognizes its 114th anniversary this year — the state’s longest standing association of chamber professionals in the nation.
“Rockwall is a very unique community, and we have many businesses that are not only surviving this pandemic but thriving in it as well,” said Rockwall Chamber President Darby Burkey. “We are so thankful to have relationships with all of our nonprofits within the city and county to be able to provide the resources for these business to be able to continue on with their causes in serving our community.”
