Quest Academy helps graduating Rockwall ISD seniors earn their robes

ROCKWALL, TX – February 19, 2021 — When local high school seniors were falling behind and in danger of not graduating on time due to the pandemic, Quest Academy in Rockwall stepped in to help fill the gap.

In an agreement with Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath high schools, teachers at Quest Academy welcomed 30-40 high school seniors during a three-week period to help them get caught up on the classes they needed to graduate on time.

“The teachers here at Quest went above and beyond for these students,” said Billye Ammons, a substitute teacher at Quest. “The students loved it because they received personalized attention from Quest teachers.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed having those students while they were here – as we do all of our students,” said Quest Academy Principal Christina Bradford. “We were able to knock out so many of the classes that they needed. These students came in and were so focused and driven, and they took care of business.”

Bradford said this kind of supportive effort between schools has been instrumental in helping students and teachers navigate through the challenges brought by the pandemic – on both a social and emotional level.

“I think we are realizing now more than ever with this pandemic that students’ and teachers’ social and emotional well being is also the key to success,” Bradford said. “I think we were able to put all of those together in this three-week period with these students, and it was a huge success. Those students were able to leave Quest with a smile knowing that they were able to catch up and get back on track.”
