Rockwall to celebrate National Pancake Day March 8

Enjoy FREE pancakes at Rockwall IHOP and donate to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children

(ROCKWALL, TX – Feb. 2, 2016) Rockwall Mayor Jim Pruitt has issued a proclamation making March 8, 2016 “National Pancake Day” for the City of Rockwall. For the last 10 years, the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children have partnered with the IHOP in Rockwall to support the 22 Shriner hospitals. These hospitals provide healthcare to any child needing orthopaedic, burn, spinal cord injury, and cleft lip and palate care – regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Heath Grob, a member of the Hella Shrine Hospital Committee, summed up National Pancake Day be saying, “We love the fact that the city and the folks who live here continue to support their local IHOP and the Shriners on National Pancake Day. Starting at 6 in the morning and ending at 7 p.m., IHOP gives away a free stack of pancakes and people give generously to the hospitals in return. What’s not to love about that?”

He added, “The giving folks in Rockwall have grown this into the biggest one-day fundraising event the Shriners have for the hospitals. The kids at the hospitals and all of the Shriners can’t say thank you enough.”

Feel like helping out a great cause and some great kids? Just stop by the IHOP at 2616 Ridge Road in Rockwall between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 to enjoy free pancakes and make a donation to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
