Skipper Andrew Vandling and Crewman Isaac Barkley, representing Sea Scout Ship 1000 of Rockwall and Rush Creek Yacht Club in Heath as USA Team 19, placed third overall in the Championship Fleet.

Thirty two teams competed in this very prestigious sea scout regatta at the Sea Star Base in Galveston, including participants from Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Hon Kong, Ireland, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, and the United States. The local boys earned a spot to compete back in September at the Southern Region Qualifier, the Aggie Cup. The boys competed in FJs, which are two person boats used for collegiate sailing.
