Pet care classes for families getting a pet for Christmas

ROCKWALL (December 19, 2013) Many families bring pets into the family during the Christmas season, but have little understanding about proper care or training.  Rockwall County 4-H will host a short term project for families with kids 8 years old and in the third grade to 18 who are getting a pet for Christmas.

The project will meet four times and provide the basics on pet care.  The first meeting will meet on Tuesday, January 14th, from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at the Rockwall County Extension Office, 915 Whitmore St. Suite B, Rockwall.

Sequential meetings will be the next three Tuesday evenings at the same time.

The cost is $40. Pre-registration with payment required by January 6.  Contact the Extension Office at 972.204.7660 to pre-register. At least one parent/guardian will attend with the young person.

Pets will not attend the first meeting.
