Crowds expected for ‘Oklahoma!’ in Rockwall

(Rockwall) A talented cast of more than 40 local performers will take the stage this weekend as Rockwall Summer Musicals’ presents Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!”

 
The show is expected to draw an even larger crowd than the Rockwall Summer Musicals’ recent production of “The Sound of Music,” which is estimated to have been seen by more than 1,700 patrons. Barbara Doudt directs “Oklahoma!”; Suzanne Toler is the choreographer and Roberta Pavlov is the musical director.
 
Among the local actors and actresses are Jacob Thomas as Curly, Molly Dobbs as Laurey, Trevor St. John-Gilbert as Will Parker, Amy Adams as Ado Annie Carnes, and Marvis Kisselburgh as Aunt Eller.
 
Performances will be at the Rockwall High School Performing Arts Center, located at Utley Middle School, 1201 Townsend Drive in Rockwall.  Curtain time is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5 and Saturday, Aug. 6. The Sunday matinee begins at 2 p.m. Doors open one-half hour prior to showtime.
 
Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for students/seniors 65 years and older. Proceeds from ticket sales help fund Rockwall ISD theatrical programs. The Rockwall Summer Musicals’ inaugural season is a fundraiser for RISD in association with Utley Theater Wolfpack Players.
