Several opportunities for job seekers at Career Expo

(Richardson) The Dallas Morning News, dallasnews.com, the Greater Dallas Chamber and Expo Experts will present a Career Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at the Richardson Civic Center, 411 W. Arapaho Road in Richardson. 

The Career Expo focuses on three primary areas: engineering, technology and security clearance; nursing and allied health; professional and general. Event parking is free. 

Among the employers participating in the engineering, technology and security clearance expo are APCON, Boeing, Bombardier Learjet, L-3 Communications, DRS Infrared Technologies and Rockwell Collins.

Employers participating in the nursing expo include Baylor Health Care System, Angels of Care Pediatric Home Health, Chamberlain College of Nursing, HCA North Texas, Parallon Workforce Management Solutions/HCA, Superior Health Care Plan, VITAS Innovative Hospice Care and YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas. Previous healthcare experience and/or education is required. Attendees may participate in a free Continuing Nursing Education Seminar at 11 a.m., provided by Texas Nurses Association District 4.

The professional and general portion of the Career Expo includes a free seminar by Graham Caufield, Expert Resume Service. Participating employers include 770AM KAAM and Insphere Insurance Solutions.
