Gary Burns Fun Run to benefit Frisco ISD students

(Frisco) The Gary Burns Frisco Fun Run will welcome more than 8,000 runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators to Frisco Square at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.

The run was established in memory of Fire Chief Gary Burns who passed away in 1999. Proceeds will benefit the Frisco Education Foundation Scholarship Fund.

For the fifth consecutive year, Frisco Square Development is the title sponsor of this 5K run and 1 mile walk, helping to build scholarship opportunities for Frisco ISD students.

“Frisco Square wants to reflect Frisco’s core values by providing community service, supporting local charities, non-profit organizations and others. This annual Fun Run is just one of the terrific opportunities we have to give back to our community,” said Jim Leslie, President of Frisco Square Development.

Students of Frisco ISD have an opportunity to seek their highest potential through education with the help of funds raised through the Frisco Fun Run. Gary Burns believed in the potential of our young people. Now we carry that dream and his memory lives on…still touching the lives of others.
