Go fishing with Hotties on the Harbor

(Lake Ray Hubbard) Fox 4 news anchor Heather Hays will throw out the first cast at a women-only charity fishing tournament set for Sunday, Sept. 25 on Lake Ray Hubbard.

Two area nonprofit organizations, Women in Need and the KCC Foundation, have joined together to present Hotties on the Harbor to raise awareness about domestic violence and healthy relationship education. Members of the United States Marine Corps will help participants bait hooks and measure their catch.

The fundraising event begins at noon with onsite tournament registration, and continues through the evening with a benefit gala and Fishin’ in Fashion show – open to all. There will be musical entertainment, a live and silent auction, prizes and an awards ceremony – including the Bass Pro Double D Award for the biggest fish and the Hilton Hottie Hooker Award for the most fish caught.

Organizers believe that through education and prevention, they can make lives better for those living in poverty, crisis situations and violence.

“By partnering with noble powerhouses like Bass Pro Shops and InSwimWear.com, we are hoping to raise funding to continue and grow our services throughoutNorth Texas,” their website reports.

Other sponsors include The Harbor, Hilton Bella Harbor and Willis Fine Jewelry.
