(Rockwall) The Friends of the Library opened their 2011-12 year with a patriotic program presented by Linda Robinson entitled “Support our Troops at Home and Abroad”.
Linda is the USO Volunteer Coordinator for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Linda showed slides from her year spent overseas establishing a USO presence in Iraq.
The audience, who had dressed in red white and blue for the occasion, was moved from smiles to tears as Linda told of her experiences, and the importance of support from home for the men and women of the armed forces.
Kathy Melston was presented a Life Time Achievement award from Jerry McCulley by the North East Texas Library System.
