Marge Ver Hagen, director for Rockwall County Commission on Aging presented the October Friday Study Club program by sharing ways the Commission fulfills its goal of helping seniors remain in their own homes as long as safely possible.
Marge reported that Meals on Wheels are provided to 165 to 180 seniors daily, plus 70 dogs, 25 cats and two birds. Safety devices of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and battery backup Weather Radios, purchased through grants were demonstrated.
The meeting was held at the home of Billye Wood with co-hostesses June Frawley and Gail Lombard providing seasonal refreshments.
