Celebrate Discovery Center’s anniversary with local artists, musicians, singers, dancers

(Frisco) The Frisco Discovery Center’s One Year Anniversary  Celebration happens 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 and from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.  Admission and parking are free all weekend for visitors.

Friday night’s complimentary reception takes place in the Gallery, along with live performances by the Frisco Jazz Band, Collin County Songwriters Association and Collin County Ballet in the Black Box Theatre. Stop by the Conference room to meet Frisco-based Silver Star Pictures. View “Beautiful,” the Visual Art Guild of Frisco’s Fall Member Show on display in the Gallery through Nov. 12.

Saturday afternoon’s festivities include the launch of the artseen city-wide studio art tour of more than 14 local artists. Pick up a map of 16 Frisco locations, including the Discovery Center Gallery, where professional artists will be working and displaying their collections. In the Black Box Theatre, watch performances by the Frisco Chorale, Men of Note, and Collin County Ballet. Visit the Conference Room to meet Silver Star Pictures. Walk through the Gallery to browse “Beautiful,” the Visual Art Guild of Frisco’s Fall Member Show.  Bring the children to the Rehearsal Room for story-time, face-painting, games, and other fun activities. Free snacks and drinks provided.
