Heath, Rockwall fire departments compete in community-wide food drive hosted by Rockwall Rotary and Rockwall County Helping Hands

(Rockwall) Friday Study Club became the first club to participate in the Rockwall Rotary and Helping Hands’ “Joining Hands to Help Others”community-wide food drive that ends Thursday, Nov. 17.
FSC president  Becky Cecil selected Rockwall Fire Station # 1 (near the main post office) and Barbara Allan volunteered to deliver the can goods and non-perishable package foods there.
Heath and City of Rockwall fire stations are competing to see who collects the most food for a prize.  The Friday Study Club’s food delivery was Rockwall Fire Station #1’s first food delivery and they are looking forward to more.
The big holiday winner will be Rockwall County Helping Hands.  Helping Hands typically distributes 2,000 bags of food each month, so every donation will help.
For more details, contact Helping Hands board member Lee Gilbert or Friday Study Club member and Rotary chair, Barbara Allan 972-771-8960 or ballan@sbcglobal.net.
