(Rockwall) The November meeting of the Friday Study Club met in the home of Ruth Willis, with Nancy Hill and Carolyn Francisco serving as co-hostesses.
Club members contributed items for the Terrell State Hospital as a part of their ongoing support of the facility and its programs.
Sharon Shannon, member of the Friday Study Club, presented the November program entitled “Queens and Other Lovers,” highlighting interesting women in the line of English royalty.
Brief illustrious histories of The Empress, Matilda, Eleanor of Acquitaine, and Isabella, the she-wolf were shared.
Sharon Shannon Elementary School in Rockwall is named for Mrs. Shannon, who is a retired English Literature teacher with 31 years experience.
