Ryan promotes two new principals to leadership team

(Dallas) Ryan, a leading global tax services firm with the largest indirect tax practice in North America, announced that Steven Hsu and Robert D. Jones have been promoted to Principal. The addition of these two seasoned tax professionals to Ryan’s leadership team represents another milestone in the firm’s continued growth.

Steven Hsu is based in the Dallas, Texas office and specializes in providing multi-jurisdictional transaction tax services, including representation, planning, and education. Hsu joined the firm in July 1998 and has been instrumental in the growth of Ryan’s Transaction Tax practice. He has also been very influential in the ongoing development of the firm’s industry-leading tax professionals, sharing his knowledge and expertise as Evaluations Committee Chairperson of the Professional Development Committee, selecting and administrating internal technical training courses to ensure Ryan professionals continue to lead the industry in tax knowledge and innovation.

Hsu is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas and is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from Texas Tech University.

Robert D. Jones is based in the Kansas City, Kansas office and specializes in providing multi-jurisdictional and federal fuels and excise tax recovery, as well as audit consulting for a variety of industries. Jones joined the firm in July 2003 and has been very influential in building Ryan’s Fuels and Excise Tax practice, which is widely recognized for tax innovation that protects profitability in a turbulent transportation industry economic environment. 

Jones is a member of the Airline Transportation Association, serves as a board member on the National Finance Accounting Council of the American Trucking Association, and is an industry advisory board member of the International Fuel Tax Association. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from The University of Kansas.
