Soil prep is topic at Jan. 12 gardening class

(Irving) Denton County Master Gardener Mary Karish will present “Soil Prep: The First Step to a Great Garden,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 at the West Irving Library.

Students will learn what steps to take to determine soil type and how to create and maintain a healthy, nutrient-rich environment for plants.

Karish owns “The Three Sisters,” an edible landscaping company, and  conducts hands-on workshops and presentations on sustainable gardening practices like composting, container gardening, and citrus care. She is a Master Composter, Citrus Specialist, and a member of the Coppell Community Gardens. 

The West Irving Library is located at 4444 W. Rochelle Road.
