Global Slavery Remembrance Day to host informative dinner

In recognition of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, there will be an informative, free catered dinner by Chef DC and Venita Benitez, founder of the Global Slavery Remembrance Day, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11 in the Black Box Theater at Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 N. Dallas Parkway.

This event will serve as a helpful introduction to those who may not know much about combating human trafficking.

The City of Frisco’s Mayor Maso will issue his second proclamation against human trafficking, Chelo Alvarez-Stehle will screen “SANDS OF SILENCE: A Personal Journey into the Trafficking of Women” and there will be three performances by singer-songwriters Rebecca Martinez, Magdeline Benitez, and national recording artist Angelia Robinson.
