Rockwall County Library News for February

February brings activities and events for all ages to the Rockwall County Library, located at 1215 E. Yellowjacket Lane in Rockwall.

Computer Classes

The Rockwall County Library will offer a Basic Computer Class for those who need an introduction to using a PC.  From 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, participants will complete a Mouserobics exercise and learn about the structure of PCs and peripheral equipment.

An Intermediate Computer Class will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m.  Thursday, March 8.

Contact Science Family Night

The Rockwall County Library will present an introduction to the Contact Science MicroWorld Adventures exhibit during Family Night on Thursday, Feb. 16. This will be a come-and-go event from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. and will involve guided experiments with the MicroWorld Adventures exhibit as well as related science crafts and activities.

While the exhibit is primarily for children in grades 3-6, younger and older kids and adults may enjoy exploring it as well.

This exhibit is brought to the library in collaboration with the University of Texas at Dallas, the Science Museum of Minnesota, and the Metroplex Technology Business Council.

Library Closing Schedule

The Rockwall County Library will be closed Monday, Feb. 20 for the President’s Day holiday.

The Rockwall County Library and other County offices will be closed Friday, March 2 in observance of Texas Independence Day. The Library will also be closed Saturday, March 3 for a computer system migration.
