Williams Middle School wins UIL district championship for seventh straight year

(Rockwall ISD) On Feb. 3 and 4, Williams Middle School competed in our annual UIL competition.  Students from our district included the following schools: Utley, Cooper, McMillan, Burnett, and Cain; but in the end, WMS placed 1st in the 7th grade Team division, 1^st place in the 8th grade Team division and, for the 7th year in a row, “UIL District Champs!”

WMS winners in the Academic events are:

Art- 7^th:  1st – Dananh Ton, 4th – Jensen King, 6th – Angela Dang.

Art – 8^th:  1st – Rachel James, 2nd Holly Adams, 3rd – Kayla Bollers; Kayla also was recognized for her Perfect score on the Are Picture Memory contest.

Calculator Applications, 7th: 1st – Sloan Johnson, 2nd – David Roland, 3rd – Brandon Gang, 8th: 2nd – Caleb Broach, 4th – Troy Bruner, 5th – Bel Martinez.

Dictionary Skills 7th: 4th – Sarah Graves, 6th – Bryce Workings 8th: 5th – Walker Knight, 6th – Briana Wright.

Editorial Writing 8^th:  1st – Emily Baskett, 2nd – Allie Dudley.

Impromptu Speaking 8^th:  1st – Colleen Breen, 6th – Haylee Fields.

Listening Skills 7^th: 1st – Griffin Perkins, 3rd – Sarah Prichard, 8^th: Tied for 4th – Lizzie Faletto and Ryan Killingsworth.

Maps, Graphs and Charts 7^th: 3rd – Isaac Wise, 5th – Campbell Kutac, 8^th: 1st – Stone Kinsey, 4th – John Gutherie.

Mathematics 7^th: 4th – Brandon Gan, 8^th: 6th -Kyle Ziegler.

Modern Oratory 7^th: 1st – Abigail White, 8^th: 1st – Nathan Mathura, 6th – Lacey Helfferich.

Number Sense 7^th: 3rd – Esther Kim, 8^th: 3rd – Josh Allen.

Oral Reading 7^th: 6th – Mallory Cothran, 8^th: 6th – Caroline Pop.

Ready Writing 8^th: 2nd – Keilani Pauga, 4th – Beth Naylor.

Science 7^th: 1st – Caroline Slatter, 2nd – Abigail White, 4th – Meridith Cooper, 8^th: 3rd – Conner Collins.
