(Rockwall ISD) Jennifer DeMars and Sean Mason, 8th grade students at J.W. Williams Middle School, were 2nd and 3rd place regional winners respectively at the “You Be the Chemist” interactive academic competition.
The Williams students will now advance to the state meet held in Houston on April 28.
The “You Be the Chemist” competition engages grade 5-8 students about important chemistry concepts, scientific discoveries, and laboratory safety. Challenge competition questions are based on an overall understanding of chemistry concepts and the relationships among various chemistry concepts.
