GROUNDBREAKING STORY: The Rockwall Economic Development Corporation hosted a groundbreaking ceremony welcoming Hatfield and Company to the Rockwall Technology Park on Feb. 27.

Hatfield and Company is relocating their corporate headquarters, manufacturing facility and local sales office from Mesquite to the Rockwall Technology Park.

The new 3.6 acre site will be located at Discovery Boulevard and Innovation Drive in Phase I of the Rockwall Technology Park, just south of Interstate 30.

Plant engineering specialties distributor Hatfield and Company will construct a 50,000 square foot building to relocate their operation.

“Hatfield and Company will be a great addition to the corporate business community in Rockwall,” said Sheri Franza, President and CEO of the REDC. “We look forward to supporting them as they grow their organization nationwide.”

Hatfield and Company is a manufacturers’ representative and distributor of filtration, instrumentation, valves, steam/air, and other piping related products.

The Hatfield family was present at the groundbreaking event, as well as David Sweet, Mayor of Rockwall, and representatives from the REDC Board of Directors, and Technology Park neighbors, including Ed Grand‐Lienard, Executive Vice President and COO of Special Products & Manufacturing, Inc.

“SPM, is excited and proud to have Hatfield and Company as our new neighbors. I graduated high school with Greg and have known the Hatfield family for over 30 years. It is a great moment for the Rockwall Tech Park, the REDC, the City of Rockwall and the Hatfield family. I told Greg he will love the commute!” said Grand‐Lienard.

Franza welcomed the crowd, and Mayor Sweet extended his congratulations on behalf of the City of Rockwall to the Hatfields. The Hatfields are long time residents of Rockwall and moving their corporation to their hometown is the fruition of a vision that began many years ago.

“Rockwall is where we need to be. All of us here at Hatco are ready to move as soon as possible!” said Greg Hatfield.

Construction on the new facility will begin at the end of this month by Hill and Wilkinson, General Contractors, and Merriman Associates, Architects.

The building is expected to be completed in January, 2013.
