Paint the Town Purple April 13 in Rockwall County

Community members, schools, churches and businesses in Rockwall County are encouraged to “Paint the Town Purple” on Friday, April 13 in preparation for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life coming to Cain Middle School the last weekend in April.

Congressman Ralph Hall and Rockwall Mayor David Sweet will address the crowd that is expected to gather for a special “Paint the Town Purple” presentation set for 4 p.m. April 13 on the steps of the old County Courthouse in Rockwall’s historic downtown square.

The presentation is designed to raise awareness about the importance of screenings, early detection and what can be done to reduce the risk of cancer.  Purple represents every type of cancer and is the official color of Relay for Life. “Paint The Town Purple” supports the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives and creating a world with less cancer, and more birthdays – by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, and by finding cures for cancer.

There are several ways to support the community and participate in the “Paint the Town Purple” cancer awareness event on April 13:
